I watch a program every week called "Nature" on PBS. Most of the time it takes the viewer to exotic locations and focuses on wildlife. Not this time.
The show was about our relationships with two of the most popular pets in America, cats and dogs. It was very insightful even for me, a dog and cat owner all my life. I recommend that you watch it.
There was a comment in the show that the relationships with our pets can be some of the longest in our lives. The average dog or cat lives 12 years and the average marriage is currently only 3.5 years.
I could type so much more but I will let the show speak for it's self.
